(Read about the Guidelines for Photo and Video Submissions)

At Hassler Dressage, beauwe take as much pride in the offspring produced by the stallions we represent as you do as the breeder! Throughout the breeding process, from your initial phone call or email to the end result, our aim is to create a relationship based on support, education, and trust. We value our breeders and take your goals to heart. Our goal is for you to be a happy client with an outstanding new sporthorse by your side. It is with much excitement that we announce our latest breeder’s incentive!

The HD Breeders Challenge Sweepstakes is a new breeder wambertinaaward system and annual contest open to all participating stallions’ offspring in our program, beginning with foals born in 2011. Cash prizes of $5000 to the Champion Foal and $2000 to the Reserve Champion Foal will be awarded! Additionally, breed-back discounts will be offered to every participant!

dewarHere’s how it works: We invite the breeders to submit information, photographs, and video of their foal produced by one of the participating stallions managed by Hassler Dressage. Materials are due by August 1, 2011, which gives the breeder time to capture the foal at his or her raphael-rousseaubest stage throughout the summer. The Hassler team will create a compilation of entries, numbering each entry to keep identity anonymous for the judging panel. Our international panel of judges National Young Dressage Horse Coach Scott Hassler of the USA, WBCYH Breeder landmarkand top stallion producer Ingo Pape of Germany, and internationally respected breeding expert Jacques Verkerk of the Netherlands will assess the group and select their first through tenth choices. A point system will establish accumulated points for each foal. This system will keep the judging independent and fair overall. The foal with the highest number of points will be named Champion and its breeder will receive a cash prize of $5000! If the foal is for sale, our Sweepstakes program even has cash in its dazzlerreserve to potentially offer the breeder a purchase option bonus! The breeder of the Reserve Champion foal will receive $2000! Additionally, each breeder who submits an entry will receive a $100 credit toward a new booking to one of our stallions.

The breeder of the Champion foal will be invited to Riveredge for a celebration and will receive wide recognition through advertising and other publications. We are excited about this new initiative to highlight quality foals and to award you, their breeders with prizes and recognition. We look forward to receiving the 2011 entries and wish you all a safe and successful foaling season!

Guidelines for Photo and Video Submissions for HD Breeders Challenge Sweepstakes!
(updated July 1, 2011)

We are delighted you plan to participate in this outstanding opportunity for our breeders. To follow are some guidelines to help each of you submit the most helpful, compelling detail on your filly or colt. Our judges will look for quality of conformation and expression of movement, correctness, and overall impression. We ask that you use the following guidelines to submit photos and video to a standard we can accurately evaluate. Hassler Dressage reserves the right to refuse any application based upon its quality of presentation! (If we can't see what we need to see, the judges can't do their jobs!) Our screening crew will review immediately to determine whether any submitted material is unacceptable so each breeder may be promptly notified and given the opportunity to submit new material within a short time frame.

Photos:
1. Conformation photo: Present your foal in "open stance" with near forelimb placed slightly ahead of far forelimb, near hind limb slightly behind far hind limb. The foal should not be 'parked out' behind or splayed too far apart in his/her limbs. We need to see the foal in open stance as balanced as possible to the vertical (not leaning forward, hind legs comfortably under). Please submit photos of both left and right side in correct Open Stance.

2. Front view: Head on view of foal, showing square stance of limbs so correctness may be evaluated. View should be significantly close enough that we can accurately see the foal--not so far away it could be difficult to judge!

3. Rear view: Tail view of foal, with hind limbs squarely positioned. Please allow the foal to stand naturally but ensure that the foal is standing vertically over forelimbs, not leaning forward or rocking back unnaturally.

4. If you submit your photos as printed photographs rather than high resolution jpegs (digital), please include three (3) copies of each image. You may include your digital images on the same cd or dvd as your video.

Video:
1. Please show same conformation shots as detailed for still photos above; video foal from all four angles
2. Please show foal walking away from video camera and back toward camera. Ensure that the foal is marching forward with good impulsion.
3. Please show foal at liberty, trotting in a circle or rectangle, following fenceline perhaps. All the foal to show full expression of gaits but also allow foal to trot in relaxed, less inspired manner as well.
4. Please show the foal's canter in both directions as relaxed as possible.
5. Video must be no longer than six minutes in length. Only the first six minutes of your submission will be viewed by the judges.
6. Please do not use special effects such as slow-motion.
7. Video/photo submissions will not be returned.
8. Please label materials with sex and date of birth only, and no other information. The overall package must be clearly marked from the breeder, of course, so we know whose submission we're receiving. Our team will then make a master list of each breeder's submission.
9. You need submit only one copy of your video (we will compile a master dvd for our judges, with all entries included). Video formats may be avi, mov, wmv, or other standard format.

Thanks so much for your time and effort to submit these materials. Please note that both photo and video materials are required. We look forward to celebrating the outstanding efforts of our breeders through this unique quality incentive program!

Good luck to all!!
Our team at Hassler Dressage
