Harmony's Locksley's Heritage
Locksley I's Heritage
Grandsire Lauries Crusador xx (below) was named Hanoverian Sire of the Year in 2007, given an impressive list of successful offspring in international sport and successful sons and daughters. Lauries offspring that we know from sport include Le Bo (Carola Koppelmann) Lesotho (Ellen Schulten-Baumer), Laurentianer (Marlies van Baalen), Little Big Man (Falk Rosenbauer) and Le Primeur (Marie-Line Wettstein, Switzerland). His well-known licensed sons include Lancier, Longchamp According to Dr. Ludwig Christman: "Lauries Crusador improves the frame of a horse. He puts on the long legs that we like, and the big shoulders that we hope from a Thoroughbred. ...They are very good in their mind, very cooperative, also good for collection. From their mind, their interior they are very good horses. In general they have very good movement but they are also very trainable so the movement gets better under saddle...." In Locksley's third generation is the stallion Derby, a son of Duellant (Dolman). Duellant was a robust stallion with great expression and enormous trotting movement. His most prominent offspring in sport was Dr. Klimke's Dux and Willie Schultheis' Doublette. Duellant left his mark in nearly every German breed. In the Hanoverian breed, the list of Duellant sons that whose influence is notable includes Duft I and II, Duden I and II, Derby, Dünkel, Durban, Dezember, and Davos. Locksley embodies his illustrious pedigree by offering breeders all the hoped for qualities in a top dressage stallion. With his elegant lines and long legs, Locksley presents a thoroughly modern picture while displaying the spectacular movement, rhythm and expression for which the Hanoverian is revered.
