A Gallery of Harmony Rousseau Foals While these are very early impressions of our breeders' 2008 arrivals, we post them with pride and look forward to updates as the foals develop and continue to mature! June 23rd – Sue Wildman of Bolton, MA welcomes a light bay colt with a star and stripe out of Joint Adventure by El Corona. He is "perfect nonetheless" (no bias there!). June 23rd – Frances Harris of Plant City, FL welcomes a bright, friendly, black Rousseau colt out of her Dutch mare, Zycoon (OOSeven - Flemmingh). This impishly playful colt, named Dracen, is a big boy, with good bone. June 18th – Tiger Tops, a Dutch mare of Wellington – Caritas bloodlines, had a beautiful colt at Julie Ballard Haralson's Haralson Farm. He is full brother to 3 year old Arousseau HF, a KWPN-NA Top Ten foal of 2005. June 17th – In Clarksburg, MD, Judy McGaughan welcomes a colt out of her Oldenburg mare Argentina (Argentinus – Grannus). Rumba, a firey little thing, is doing great! June 14th – Debbie Clark of Rolling Hills, CA has a "fabulous" colt out of her Dutch mare Unicum H (Gribaldi – Wolfgang). June 9th – Harmony Sporthorses' veterinarian, Dr. Melinda Story, had a Rousseau filly of her own! Mindy's Dutch/TB mare, Demetia (Go Step – Lucky Boy) foaled a healthy brown little one. June 7th – What a day for Harmony Sporthorses and Rousseau! Three foals arrived on June 7th out of their mares. A bay filly to Irish Sporthorse Lilo (Chacoa – Ballysimon), a bay colt to Holsteiner mare Uptown Girl (Riverman – Coriander), and a chestnut filly to Holsteiner mare Haiti IV (Coriander – Roman) (photos below, left to right, resp). May 31st – In Amenea, NY, Bonnie Stedt welcomes a pinto filly out of her Oldenburg mare, Wishbone (Hall of Fame - Welt As). Bonnie notes that of Wishbones three foals, this filly is the nicest she's seen.
May 30th – Birgit and Gunnar Ostergaard from Chester, VT are very pleased with their new filly, Rondine, out of the Danish mare, Svava Boesgaard (SChwadroneur - Flamingo DH). Rondine has long legs, a good shoulder, and good hindquarters. She stands and moves straight. May 28th – Robin Damone of Amissville, VA welcomes the third foal out of her Hanoverian mare, Danika Blue (Davignport – Dedrick). This filly, named R Savannah Song, is the "prettiest of the three. Leggy, fine, elegant and independent." Savannah and her mother Danika Blue are currently offered for sale; view this sales listing here.
May 25th – Missi Cool has a BIG bay filly with really good bone and conformation out of her Holsteiner mare, Cameo, by Cor Noir. The filly, Rookie, has tons of energy and is wearing her dam out! May 25th – Harmony Sporthorses' Holsteiner mare, Orthana (Franklin – Accord II), had a large beautiful colt with a gorgeous head. This colt has a full sister born in 2005 who is a great mover with a strong hind end and feminine looks. May 24th – Daystar, a beautiful filly was born at Wrenwood Farm and Stables in San Antonio, TX. Daystar is out of the Thoroughbred mare, Always Me (Alwasmi x Whacky Patty). She loves people and loves to play. Here she is pictured at 10 days old. May 23rd – A "big, beautiful Rousseau colt" was born at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, ME. The lovely dam of this outgoing and incredible foal is the Dutch mare, Vera (Don Primaire – Saros). May 23rd – Vivagonda (Florett As – Caritas), a Dutch mare owned by Laureen Wilkerson of Ravensdale, WA, foaled a tall chestnut colt named Daunte who has four high whites and a blaze. May 21st – Danzzenbloem, a lovely chestnut filly, is charming the Correa family in Chatham, IL. Born to Tony Correa's Dutch mare, Razz Ma Tazz (Jazz – Graf Goetz), we hope to celebrate a full sibling's arrival in 2009! May 21st – TWINS, yes twins were born to the Holsteiner mare, Santa Fee (Ariadus – Riverman) of Harmony Sporthorses in Kiowa, CO . While not the ideal circumstance, we're grateful that both fillies are healthy and strong. What a blessing! May 19th – Roux has arrived! A filly out of Diane Isenhour's Elite Hanoverian mare, Dame (Domingo – Dueker). This Crescent Farm arrival has very long legs and a hoof that fills your palm! May 18th – The Dutch mare Zilena (Iroko – Freestyle), owned by Jan Downs-Barrett of Riegelsville, PA, foaled a healthy colt. May 17th – Pavlova, a splendid bay filly out of Lindsay Fuchs' Holsteiner mare, Merrilee (Rapport – Play The Red). Lindsay, Merrilee, and Pavlova reside in Ham Lake, Minnesota.
May 17th – Sharon Pichler of Franktown, CO is enjoying her bay spitfire of a filly out of the Holsteiner mare, Likewise (Columbus – Red Charmer). May 16th –Paula Carter of Aurora, CO ordered up a bay colt when her vet bred her Dutch mare, Mayfair (Zeoliet – Maykel). Denver Gold was delivered as promised! Paula says he is adorable and easy to handle. May 15th – Whimzee (Wolkentanz I – Bolero), a Hanoverian mare owned by Margaret Davis of Petaluma, CA, foaled a beautiful bright bay filly. Margaret says she has the "kindest temperament and boy can she move!" May 13th – Sally Harrington Philippo of Brighan, Quebec, is proud to announce the arrival of RiverCross Drapeau, out of her Keur, Elite Dutch mare, Rosalie (Jet Set D – Goodtimes). The black filly is simply gorgeous and we hope to share a photo of her soon. May 10th – A bay filly was born to the Oldenburg mare, Mia (May Sherif – Matrose) as a gift to Diana Howard by her parents, Dorothy and Wayne Miller of Bruceton Mills, WV. May 9th – Dragon Bloom, a beautiful, friendly bay colt was born to Suzanne Trickey's mare in Ontario, Canada. The Dutch mare, Zalanta (Flemmingh – Goodtimes), foaled a very special young man. Says Suzanne, "he is so trusting that if you go in his stall while he is sleeping, he won't get up; you can go beside him and lay down." He is also full of life and keeps everyone in stitches at Bloomington Farm. Dragon Bloom is offered on our Sales page here. May 8th and 18th – Two fillies have arrived out of the Dutch mare Prizarma (Lennard – Hierarch). One was carried via embryo transfer by the recipient mare, Ducky. Ducky foaled a filly (below left) May 8th. A full sister (below right) arrived out of Prizarma on May 18th. Both fillies are bay with stars and hinds socks and are healthy and correct. Prizarma will be bred in the same fashion for 2009 foals. Owner Barbara McElnea jokes that she's building her Rousseau herd! May 7th – The Premium Oldenburg mare, Rakaia (Riverman - Cor Noir) foaled a grey filly, Grace, for proud owners Lloyd and Kay Lamp of Woodsboro, MD. Lloyd says "not only is she adorable, but her temperament and movement are outstanding". Photos by Erin McCardell May 1st – Amy Hughes of Denver, CO has an "adorable" colt out of her Oldenburg mare, Rainbow (Riverman – Zymbal). The colt is full of character. "There is not a timid bone in him and he will approach anyone who comes to visit. He is bold and full of confidence." May 1st – Daddy Long Legs as he is jokingly being called, arrived out of Carrie O'Brien's Dutch mare, Perlinda (Don Primaire – Le Mexico) in Yamhill, OR. This gorgeous bay colt "is so friendly and kind without being boyish obnoxious." He's very athletic and is enjoying his brother D'Azhur Astin (see April 1st listing, below), also a Rousseau colt. May 1st – A healthy bay filly and one of the best seen at Justaplain Farm in Cochranville, PA arrived out of the Hanoverian mare, Chantilly (Caprimond – Gluecksstern). Chantilly was bred by Meg Douglas-Hamilton of South Hamilton, MA. April 30th - A "big, leggy, beautiful bay colt by Rousseau" arrived out of Dorreene Gilmore's Hanoverian mare, Dark Star (Diamont - Trapper). Here's the adorable little man on his first day out at Golden Hills Farm. Dubbed Rocket Man, "as every move is a launch," this colt is also "quite a love." April 26th - Rouczar - a beautiful bay colt out of Premium Oldenburg mare Czar's Precious Lacey (Alla Czar' - Predicament xx). Bryant Farm in Thurmont, MD is proud to welcome this perfect and super friendly colt! April 26th - Dexter is welcomed by Dan and Andrea Collins of Kirkwood, PA. This chestnut colt out of Andrea's Dutch mare, Luce del Sole (Consul - If Only xx), is shown here at three days old and with "grandma" Rosie, who is 31 years old! April 26th - Jim Lewis and Linda Zang of Edgewater, MD have "the best Rousseau yet!" - a bay filly out of their Site Champion Non-Hanoverian mare, Noblest Yet (Wayne County xx - Deputed Testamony xx). They're looking forward to having a full sibling in 2009. April 22nd - Don and Dee Kapper of Outer Banks Farm, Beach City, OH announce the joyous arrival of a "big, strong" new Rousseau colt out of their Hanoverian mare, Brimming (P.B. Banter - P.B. Adroit). This quiet fellow loves attention. April 21st - Cariann Wlosinski of Lexington, KY welcomes the arrival of a Rousseau filly who is "beautiful, very upright and correct. She absolutely floats when she moves... excellent cross!" The dam is Cari's Holsteiner mare, Odette (Riverman - Runaway). April 17th - Ringrazia was born "in great health" and is "a real tiger!" This stunning filly arrived to proud breeder, Glenda Childress of PBJ Dressage in Pataskala, OH. The dam is her Elite Hanoverian mare, Grazie (Grusus - Westpoint). April 16th – Marie Kueng of Menomonee Falls, WI has a new Rousseau filly! Dazzling Princess (Princely Lad – RiTux), her Dutch mare, foaled a "lovely little move with appealing conformation." April 16th - Seems we're blessed this week with foals being born so near to us! Just around the corner at Blue Waters Farm in Chesapeake City, MD - a Rousseau filly arrived out of the embryo transfer mare BoJangles. The true momma is Pat Cross' mare Capricia (Caprimond - Lungau). This gorgeous little lady is balanced and elegant. April 13th - Nancy Murray's Dutch mare Priceless (Idocus - Wanroij) foaled a "beautiful, very feminine bay filly" with "a gorgeous head and expression." Nancy and her horses are just a short drive from us in Elkton, MD. April 12th - Marie Emrey of Lazy J Sporthorses in North East, MD announces her second Rousseau foal of the 2008 season! Dietrich LJS is charming with all of his "bling." Everyone at Lazy J just loves him. April 12th - Ada van de Kolk of Lyons, OH and her Dutch mare Savanna (Welt Hit II - Jazz) welcome the arrival of a lovely little filly, Davanna. Here is Davanna at nearly two days old. We look forward to Savanna's Wamberto foal in 2009! April 9th - Dynamic, a Rousseau filly was born to Kerri Sowers' Thoroughbred mare Northern Freya (Northern Wolf xx - Double Zeus xx). Dynamic is "perfect - social, friendly, incredibly smart, and has a super hind end!" Kerri believes she will turn grey like her dam. Kerri, Freya, and Dynamic reside in Egg Harbor City, NJ. April 7th - Tracy Ammons, DVM and Candise McKay of Southern Breeze Sporthorses, TX announce the arrival of a gorgeous chestnut filly out of the Dutch mare, Sarona (Idocus - Flemmingh). April 6th - Diane Isenhour of Crescent Farm in Hillsborough, NC is pleased to share the news of her Rousseau arrival, a chestnut colt named Ripley, out of her Oldenburg mare Weltgrafin (Weltstern - Domino). Ripley is a "bouncing ball" - always on the move! We look forward to Ripley's full sibling in 2009! April 5th - A blessed colt, Diderot, was born to Tout's Princess, a 25 year old Thoroughbred mare (Capacitator - Tout) owned by Monica Sweet of San Diego, CA. Tish Quirk, who took these photos, helped foal out Tout's Princess and says this dark bay colt with lots of chrome is "gorgeous."
April 2nd - A "stunning" bay colt has arrived to the Keur Dutch mare, Sioux (Zeoliet - Goodtimes), bred by Lesley Feakins of Trevelyan Farm in Lancaster, PA. This colt was purchased in-utero by Tracie Richardson for her niece, who after working for an Aerosmith band member and who has high hopes for this colt, has named him Dream On. Tracie is the proud owner of another of Trevelyan Farm's foals, Armani (Rousseau - Varus), a coming 3 year old. April 1st - The Ster, Prok mare, Remolina (Flemmingh - Zoogedacht) gave birth to "a beautiful chestnut filly by Rousseau. Dorina is healthy and well and is quite bold and inquisitive." Dorina is proudly bred by Bob and Angela Stuhr of Greenwood SportHorses, Lees Summit, MO. April 1st - Carrie O'Brien of WIllow Spring Warmbloods in Yamhill, OR has a new Rousseau arrival named D'Azhur-Astin- a full brother to her 2004 colt Zsunami out of her Dutch mare, Rubicon (Damiro - Taxateur). Carrie says "Woohoo! I hope he is as nice as his brother!" who was in the KWPN-NA Top Ten as a two year old. March 28th - Meredith Michelfelder of Midway Farms in Moulton, AL welcomes Pheobe, a "gorgeous... big, strong filly" by Rousseau out of her Hanoverian mare, La Marige (Larome - Donnerschlag). Meredith describes herself as "SO in love!" March 18th - Danika entered the world with some "serious chrome" according to breeder, Debbie Gregoire, of Leavenworth, KS. This Rousseau filly is out of her Dutch mare, Kontiki (Concorde - Solied), who will be bred to Rousseau's son, Wamberto, for a 2009 foal. Very exciting! March 14th - A beautiful, strong bay filly arrived to the Oldenburg mare NF Amayzing (Alhaltiner E - Fruhlingsball). Marie Emrey of Lazy J Sporthorses in North East, MD welcomes this delightful filly. March 10th - The first Rousseau foal of the 2008 season arrived to the Hanoverian mare Walhalla (Weltmeyer - Grundstein). This black filly was standing within 20 minutes of birth and nursed within an hour. She was bred by Lilo Zinglersen of Viking Farm in Milan, NY. 2007 Foals Congratulations to David Wightman of Murrieta, CA on his new Rousseau filly produced via embryo transfer out of the Hanoverian mare, Breanna (Brentano II – Weltmeyer). Last year, under David's wife, Kathleen Raine, Breanne was one of the country's top contenders in the FEI Six Year Old classes. Breanna and Kathleen earned an overall 8.5 at Flintridge with a highlight score of 9 on the walk. We're excited about the bright future of this chestnut filly, the grandeur of her promising pedigree, and hope to share photos soon!
